Who we Are And why You Should Train Here
Since 2007, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. We take pride in creating an environment for individuals of all ages and skill levels to develop and achieve their personal goals.
We strongly believe that martial arts will be helpful to anyone, regardless of age, size, gender, or experience. Throughout all of our programs, students will learn the necessary skill sets to protect themselves. We stand behind our realistic and practical approach, confident it will enable every member to achieve greatness and live their best life!

Chance Burleson - Chief Instructor and Co-Founder
Master Chance Burleson is the Chief Instructor and Co-founder of Legends Martial Arts Inc. Since the age of five, Mr. Burleson has been trained by his father Grandmaster J. Pat Burleson. Grandmaster Burleson was the first United States Karate Champion in
1964. Since that time, he continuously produced some of the finest and most resilient Black Belts in martial arts history. It is from this tradition that Mr. R. Chance Burleson was raised. By the age of 12, Chance had won state titles in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, and participated in public demonstrations and competitions on a weekly basis. Chance jests sometimes, “While other kids were in little league and pee wee football, I was fighting in a local or state karate tournament.” Even though this may sound odd, especially in America, it has become a way of life for him. Chance started teaching summer day classes by 12 years old, and at the age of 15, Chance fought for, and received his 1st Degree Black Belt. When Chance was 17, he was managing the school and teaching full time. What began as His father’s dream has become a legacy. At 50 years old, Chance has dedicated over 35 years of his life to teaching martial arts professionally to families and would love to share his experience and legacy with yours!
Nikki Mills - Program Director
I started my Legends journey in 2020 at age 35 after my then 4-year old son enrolled. I had no previous athletic experience! Not even sports in high school or childhood. I fell in love with our Teen & Adult class immediately, and have been training ever since! I earned my first degree black belt in April of 2024. One of the most challenging and rewarding processes of my life! About a year into my training I accepted the role of Program Director, leaving my “real world job” and never looking back. My favorite thing about what I do here is when I get to hear people’s stories of how martial arts has changed their lives, and how much they value what we do. I believe wholeheartedly that martial arts can benefit any person at any age, any gender, any fitness level, and under any life circumstances. Legends has changed me as a person and my life in all the best ways. I would love to meet you and find out how Legends can help you become the person you’ve always dreamed you could be!
Master Ty Puckett
I started martial arts with Legends when I was 11 years old. I got my first degree black belt at the age of 15 in 2011. Aside from Legends I have experience in many different forms of weapon fighting. I’ve been in martial arts for well over half my life! I primarily teach the juniors classes, but I also assist with teens and adults. The thing I love most about teaching is passing on knowledge. It’s very fulfilling the see someone succeed with something I taught to them. I have a lot of hobbies, from collecting various sharp and pointy things and things that go boom, to playing video games and tabletop games, but one of my favorite things to relax with is painting models.
Master Alyssa Pruett
I started taking karate with Legends Martial Arts at 12 years old and am currently a 5th degree black belt. I teach the Warriors and the Juniors. My
favorite part of teaching is drawing out the amazing person hidden within each of our students and watching confidence rise up inside them as they master new skills. In my spare time I enjoy making music, drawing, and gardening.
Jaden Rogers
I started with Legends when I was 7 and have trained for 10 years. I earned my black belt in 2019 and second-degree black belt in 2022. What I love about teaching is that you have such a massive impact on the lives of so many people. I love helping people stay safe and be more aware, as well as teaching life skills that will keep kids out of trouble in the future. It’s an amazing feeling to know the impact you will have on so many different lives. I love sports and am interested in software development. I’m also a stickler for staying in shape and want to get to know as many people as I can and make as many friends as possible!
Samantha McCain
I started karate when I was 5 and got my first degree black belt at age 12 in 2018. In 2021, I earned my third degree black belt. Teaching is a huge passion of mine as I love getting to connect with all of our students, and I really enjoy watching them flourish in their skills to become awesome martial artists! Outside of karate, I have a big focus on school as I work closer to starting my career.
